"me nec tam patiens Lacedaemon nec tam Larisae percussit campus opimae quam domus Albuneae resonantis et praeceps Anio ac Tiburni lucus et uda mobilibus pomaria rivis "

Orazio, Odi

"non mi commuove tanto l’austera Sparta , e neppure i ricchi campi di Larissa , quanto la casa risonante di Albunea , la cascata dell’Aniene , il bosco di Tiburno e i frutteti irrorati dal fluire dell’acqua "

Orazio, Odi

How to visit

Villa d'Este

Villa d'Este, a masterpiece of the Italian garden and listed on the UNESCO World Heritage List, with the impressive concentration of fountains, water lilies, caves, water games and hydraulic music, is a model emulated several times in European gardens of Mannerism and Baroque garden. The garden is also considered in the extraordinary landscape, artistic and historical context of Tivoli, which presents both the prestigious remains of ancient villas such as Villa Adriana, and a territory full of forests, caves and waterfalls, symbol of a millennial war between Stone and water.

Villa Adriana

The Villa Adriana of Tivoli was built starting from 117 AD. From Emperor Hadrian as his imperial residence far from Rome, and is the most important and complex Villa we have remained of Roman antiquity, being vast as and more than Pompeii (at least 80 acres). Entrusted to the UNESCO World Heritage Sites in 1999, Villa Adriana shares with many other famous archaeological sites the paradox of being known and excavated for more than five hundred years, while remaining largely unknown in its substance.

Villa Gregoriana

Woods, waterfalls, glimpses and cliffs, rocky trails, ancient vestiges and natural caves, a river swallowed by the bowels of the earth. Just a stone's throw from Rome, rises in Tivoli Park Villa Gregoriana, wanted by Pope Gregory XVI in the mid-nineteenth century and meta for centuries of travelers, artists, kings and emperors. A unique and uncontaminated landscape that makes Park one of the most romantic walks in the world.
